' Willie Dixon God Damn! ' is the title of a new chapter in Bocephus King’s story and a continuation of his last album, the critically acclaimed ‘All Children Believe in Heaven,’ which left off with tales of 1950’s Hollywood heartbreakers, the Beats and poor lost souls. As the title suggests, ‘Willie Dixon God Damn!’ continues to present King as a cultural omnivore who eats with his mouth wide open. But the musical influences may as well be spoken of with the same weight as how literature and cinema are just as significant ingredients. His eclectic mélange integrates a soulful street carnival blues, moments that possess the glissando of a Michel Gondry dream sequence, the rustic appeal of a border town roots rock, and for the first time, hints of Eastern mysticism. Somewhere, George Harrison is smiling on the whole affair.

Bocephus King is playing at a variety of folk festivals in British Columbia this summer including In The House Festival, Surrey Fusion Festival, Kispiox Valley Music Festival and Sunshine Music Festival.
